not really flat on the bottom I ordered this spoon because in the photo it appeared to be flat on the bottom. Even though it's flatter than most cooking spoons it is rounded enough that only a small portion of the end of the spoon actually touches the pan therefore it is not any better for scraping the pan than any other spoon. The spoon is also heavier than most metal cooking spoons and the metal is thicker than it needs to be. Therefore I am giving it away as it doesn't feel comfortable to use.
